Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is an Mexican American singer-songwriter and popular actress. Her family was home-schooled by her mom within the USA. Her childhood was filled with racist taunts and being made to feel unwelcome. After entering a ninth-grade school audition where she was praised for her voice and acoustics, she began to gain confidence. The experience not only boosted her self-confidence but also changed the direction she wanted to go in her career. She graduated from the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In 1993 she had her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was titled You've got Mail. In the Broadway first production of Spamalot she portrayed the Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as the praise of critics. Her fame grew for her appearance on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. As a professional singer and producer, she's produced one single and an extended work. She is an activist who strives in the cause of LGBT equality.
